    Autumn light peered through the windows for shorter and shorter periods, and another year - another one spent together - was drawing to a close. Yet it wasn't just that year, something else was also coming to an end. While most people were writing Christmas shopping lists and planning how to spend that joyful time, others grappled with an entirely different issue: a loss that was inevitable.
    Trying to live as normally as possible while simultaneously coming to terms with the situation, each subsequent touch and kiss grew ever more beautiful, yet increasingly painful, in anticipation of the unavoidable. Kanao wished for one thing that wasn't possible but despite the pain she had no intention of forgetting what had been, for memories would be the only thing left to her.

    Giyu gently shook Tanjiro’s shoulder as he tried to loosen the strings laced around his neck.

    Tanjiro came too frantically, terrified by the movements near his throat. No! Are they back?! Who is it?!

    Tanjiro could hardly breathe let alone smell past the blood clogging his nose, so there was no way for him to identify the enemy.

    Giyu hadn’t expected this reaction. He promptly gave up on removing the burlap sack and tightened his grip on Tanjiro’s upper body, stilling him. “It’s okay. It’s me.”

    Tanjiro heard the Water Hashira’s voice and ceased his struggling. Finally, there was someone here to help, to defend him. He needn’t worry about them or their barrage of fists anymore.

    2 months didn't seem that long. Until you break it down to 8 weeks, to 60 days, to 1440 hours, to 86400 minutes, to 518400 seconds.
    Kanao spent the longest time besides the bed-ridden Tanjiro while caring for Nezuko for 2 months before the boy awoke. During those 2 months, her care for the boy and her the soft voice in her heart became clearer and louder.

     Chapter 1 is like an introduction to the situation.
     Chapter 2 is a warm-up. A sisterhood conversation between Kanao and Shinobu will be present. Giyushino mentioned.
     The entire fluffiness of Kanao taking care of the Kamados will be in chapter 3.
     Chapter 4 will include some exact scenes from the mentioned episode. Tanjiro wakes up.
     More fluff in Chapter 5 where Tanjiro is awake.

    The millenia-long war against the demons is finally over. By some miracle Genya’s shattered body has reconstituted itself one final time, but the demon’s presence on earth is waning, and every dose of demon flesh Genya consumes sustains him less than the last.
    Tanjiro has fulfilled his duty and banished the darkness once and for all with his fellow slayers, but the war will take its toll on his body. Just as was foretold in the Ubuyashiki scrolls, as a marked slayer, his life will come to an end by the time he reaches twenty-five, in eight short years.
    With their limited time, Genya and Tanjiro decide to make the most of their lives.
