Qui-Gon’s look changed instantly, his features fell as fear gripped his heart. “Where?”
“Down the mountain, by the river.”
“Who was it?”
“Five bounty hunters. Obi-Wan could sense them coming. He told me to run.” Her chin began to tremble. “But I heard him scream so I went back.”

Christine was an orphaned chorus girl. The Phantom was her guardian, tutor, and master. Their relationship flourished within the walls of the Opera Populaire: he grew from the soft voice singing her to sleep to the man controlling her rise to success.
(Inspired by the Phantom song Wandering Child, so it contains subtle and overt daddy kink elements, D/s, and general "fathering gaze". Their dynamic is consensual but there is a significant age and power imbalance.)
