“Go on, then, arrest me, Kim,” he says, smirking. He’s loose and large and looks down at you. And you think about it. You really do. Turning him around, slamming him against the wall, face-first. He’s larger than you, but he’s drunker, and he gets clumsy when he’s drunk. You’ve practiced, years and years of it. You can have the cuffs on him before he even realizes what’s happening.
You think, ah, fuck it, and then you’re on him, one hand on his shoulder, the other on his waist, spinning him around, shoving him, and he loses his footing on the curb, stumbles, and you get him under an arm, pick him up, and push him face first into the wall, reaching for your cuffs. Summary
Kim realizes Harry’s afraid of touching and being touched. So Kim starts, very slowly, enacting his plan to make the detective more comfortable with being touched. He starts small. A hand on Harry’s shoulder when he’s done well, or when he needs to be bolstered. He leans into him to whisper confidentially into his ear. Once, the detective has mustard on his shirt, and Kim wets his handkerchief and dabs at it while the man stiffens and his face goes scarlet. He allows his hand to brush Harry’s when they play Suzerainty, handing off the die. But Harry doesn’t touch Kim. No, the detective keeps his hands to himself.
And then in May Harry touches him of his own volition.

The detective is both more and less than you remember - taller than you, leaning on the doorframe with one forearm, green eyes glittering. Alcohol, maybe. You try to subtly peer around him into the apartment. You can’t *quite* tell. But here, in this context - well, he’s just a man. One that’s been made familiar to you in the last three weeks. To Luffy, he just looked like Ace. The firelight made him seem even cozier than usual, really. Luffy crouched down next to his brother and watched the rise and fall of his chest, vaguely surprised at how something so boring could be so mesmerizing. He poked his tummy. Trailed his wandering finger down the sparse path of black hair that dipped below the belt of his shorts. He swallowed.
“Ace,” he whined, tugging at the side of his open shirt. “Get up, stupid. I wanna do it.”
