On June 26, 2015, same-sex marriage is federally legalized in the US. Leon Kennedy watches the White House lit up in rainbow, and thinks about the complicated series of events that he and Chris have lived through together.
For most of his life, marriage hadn’t really been on his mind. And then, for the brief period it had, they’d talked about it, a little bit. Where they’d go. It could be anywhere, now, the entire country. Leon bit his lip, considering, and pulled his phone out. There was only one person he wanted to talk to about this, and before he could second-guess it, he tapped Chris’ name.

Summary
The highly respected naval soldier, Leon S. Kennedy saves the Commodore’s daughter, Ashley Graham, from a rogue Spanish naval fleet. After her return, her father insisted that she wed her savior, as a sign of great gratitude for his efforts, to which Leon’s father eagerly agreed to the accord.
Ashley and Leon are far less fond of the gesture, wishing nothing more than freedom and a chance to live by their own sails, rather than the societal bonds they both faced. Perhaps piracy held the answer to their woes?
The pair flee their bonds, only to find themselves wrapped in Captain Chris Redfield and Captain Albert Wesker’s complicated, dangerous rivalry, full of sea curses, deadly sirens, and Wesker’s favorite weapon.

In July 2013, high-ranking Neo-Umbrella operatives hidden in the US government's Department of Security Operations retrieve a severely infected - but alive - Piers Nivans from Chinese waters.
After months of experimentation and a C-Virus cure synthesized from Jake Muller's antibodies, Piers - with hardly any memory of his former life, fitted with a high-tech prosthetic arm, and assigned the codename Fox - is a model US asset, assigned to "help" DSO Agent Leon S. Kennedy eradicate remaining Neo-Umbrella strongholds and eliminate the C-Virus.
Unbeknownst to him, Fox's true mission is to feed intel on DSO operations back to Neo-Umbrella, but as he and Leon get to know each other, Neo-Umbrella's control slips and secrets begin to come to light.
Meanwhile, Chris is just miserable and sad because he thinks Piers is dead. Sorry Chris. It'll be okay.

People try to set Chris and Leon up with strangers. Obviously the best solution is to pretend to date each other to avoid this.

The time Chris Redfield gay panicked his way into a fake relationship with the love of his life. Surely this will have no consequences.
Leon doesn't seem upset, though, leaning back against the stone baluster with a contemplative look. "Hmm. No, it's okay. Actually, it might solve our problems if people do think that."
"If people think… we're together?" The words feel strange in his mouth, almost expecting to be slapped for even thinking about it, but Leon nods slowly.
"I mean, would save us the trouble of inventing any fake spouses, you know? And this line of work doesn't leave much space for a relationship outside of it anyway. It makes sense, don't you think?"
God, does it make sense. If only Leon knew how often and thoroughly Chris had considered that it made sense. Well, perhaps it's still better he doesn't know. "Yes." Chris's voice comes out raspy, and he clears his throat and tries again. "Yes, it makes sense."

Summary
It became too much, the sincerity Chris offered, the patience, the way he waited for the other shoe to drop, and Leon looked away, glancing at their joined hands, and it was then that he saw a ring on Chris' finger as well, one that matched his own. He let himself dream, for a moment, let himself fly away in search of a world where his wishes were not impossible, just another fact, and his filter crunched under the weight of it all, so he spoke next.
"Are you married?" Was the question, and Leon bit his lip, looked up and prayed for his words to pass as a joke.
As a joke they passed, because Chris laughed at his question, punching Leon's shoulder lightly.
"Yes, to an idiot." He said, laughter still a glistening shine decorating his face, making his pretty wrinkles pop.
