Like they can read his mind, Molly moves over to him, drapes a blanket over his shoulders, and sits beside him, all without saying a word. Caleb catches himself wishing they could share it, and he shakes himself. He hasn’t been this close to anyone except Nott in a long while, and the proximity is unfamiliar, though not unwelcome.
He thinks maybe he was onto something with Molly’s telepathy when they put their arm carefully around his shoulder.

It’s just a normal supply run. Beau happened to draw the short stick and got sent out to buy some more adventuring shit so they won’t die as soon as they leave the city. Jester had shoved 3 silver in her hand and said “If you happen to see any candy could you maybe buy some for me, please and thank you!”, before skipping away to go bother Caleb or something. So really this is all Jester’s fault.

Or, Mollymauk and Caleb have only recently decided to try out a romantic relationship. One night early on, Molly discovers that Caleb is asexual.
It's still pretty easy to make things work from there. One of the hardest parts of a romance can be finding out how to define it, after all. Once they know where the lines are drawn, that only makes it easier to know how best to give each other what they need.

(Down in the tunnels on the way to Xhorhas, Caleb and Molly have a talk about old scars, old names, past lives, and where that leaves them here and now. Having a soulmate doesn't make life easy. But it does mean there's always someone by your side when things get hard.
