    "You are very pretty you know. I like your...what are these called?" He reached out to touch Shane's face, and Shane flinched, lurching backwards in surprise. Only Rozanov's hand on his wrist stopped him from crashing into the people behind him. Rozanov's hand was warm on Shane's cheek, fingers softly tracing the lines of his cheekbones. Shane swallowed, the motion difficult - all the saliva had seemingly vacated his mouth. He felt himself blushing furiously.

    Barely able to stammer out an answer, he responded, "Do you mean...you mean my freckles?"

    "Ah yes, freckles. Very pretty. They look like stars."

     
    Shane gets signed to the Boston Bears. Everything's great, except for one of his teammates - an annoying, stuck-up Russian man with a huge ego and habit for irritating the hell out of Shane. Can Shane learn to get along with Rozanov, and navigate the confusing and complicated emotions that swirl up whenever he is in his presence?

    Ilya’s mouth quirked, and again his eyes flicked across Shane’s face, assessing.
    Shane held his gaze. He’d read the file. Ilya Rozanov was the same age he was, but 26 looked a lot different when it had never had to be responsible for anything. Shane could already tell that Rozanov was going to make his job significantly more difficult for no reason except that he could—and best of luck to him. Shane had worked with difficult principals before, and when it came down to it, the job was very simple: keep them alive, keep your opinions to yourself, and go home at the end of the posting.

    Or: Someone is threatening the life of Ilya Rozanov, son of Russian Diplomat Grigori Rozanov. Shane Hollander is the Parliamentary Protective Service Officer assigned to his detail.
