“Hi, my name is Ellen Mills. I'm a nurse at Valley General Hospital. I'm looking for Negan Smith,” an entirely too chipper voice tells him when he answers the phone.
“It's two in the damn morning,” Negan groans.
“Sorry to call so late, we have an emergency situation. You're listed as a certified emergency heat partner in our database and we have a patient in need of a partner as soon as possible.”
“Figured that had been canceled,” Negan mumbles. He tries to remember how long those certs are good for and when he last renewed it before he was fired, but all the first aid and teaching certifications run together in his mind. “Uh, sure. I guess I can come in.”
