Summary
In a hilarious and intimate undercover op, Steve and Danny pose as a couple at a high-end wellness retreat to catch a con artist. Danny looks up at him, and when their eyes meet it’s like slow goddamn motion or something. The air grows thick and heavy and sounds are muted, and the smile that widens on Danny’s face makes Steve’s toes curl. When he gets to Danny’s side, his arm goes around Danny’s shoulders, and Danny’s arm comes around his waist, settles with his hand tucked in his back pocket, bumping their hips together, and Steve somehow can tell. They both know it. It’s all different this time.

Jaskier's and his partner's presence are requested at his sister's wedding - which is all well and good, except well. Jaskier may have made up a fake partner to keep his nosey family satisfied. Good thing Geralt is his best friend in the whole wide world and suggests they go together under the guise of a married couple. Which is also well and good, except... well, Jaskier may already be for real in love with him. What is being fake-married going to do to the poor bard's heart? Add a scheming, well-meaning Yennefer and an amused Ciri to the mix of Jaskier's exuberant family and it's definitely going to be an interesting week leading up to the wedding.

Geralt and Jaskier head to Kaer Morhen for the winter. When the Witchers are occupied and his chores are done, Jaskier spends his free time exploring the keep. One day, he stumbles across a mage's lab, touches something he shouldn't, and wakes up young again with no memories of his older self. With the Witchers unable to reverse the magic, they have to wait and see what happens as it wears off. Until then, Geralt gets a glimpse of Jaskier's past, and baby Julek has some fun and shenanigans in the keep.

The figure in the doorway is obscured in shadow, but his outline is… gargantuan. Burly and muscular, but also tall, oh so tall. He slips fully into shadow when the door closes, and Jaskier can hear him shuffling through the room.
All Jaskier can see is blackness; he even widens his eyes to what would be a comical size if anyone could see them, but to no avail. He can see nothing of the man who is seemingly rummaging through his belongings.
“Um,” his words cut through the relative silence. “May I ask… are you here to rob me?”

The larks flash through the chilly morning with their song - doing what they do best, doing what they were intended to.
They need no meaning and it’s simple. They’re a part of the world and there are things in this world that will last long after they’re gone forever but they do not fret about the end. It’s just the way the world is.
Larks don’t struggle. They live in the moment. That’s what they’re meant to do.
Some time has passed since their parting and they are ready to forgive one another. Unfortunately, when Geralt finds Jaskier the circumstances are slightly different from what he expects. However, he is determined to make amends, even if it means that instead of using a sword he has to rely on all the terrible things he has no idea how to wield. Care and tenderness, that is.
