Kim Soleum looks better than usual, by which Choi means he looks healthier. The dark circles beneath his eyes are mostly gone, his hair a little neater than usual, which gives him a put-together, competent look. Sure, Kim Soleum is competent but with his nerdy glasses—fake, by the way, Choi had checked—and the oversized jumper, he doesn’t always look the part.

Summary
Not for the first time that week—or even that day—Han Sooyoung mourned the life she could have lived if she’d never met Kim Dokja. If it weren’t for that bastard, she would probably be running the whole peninsula right now, not doing rotten leg work for people who wouldn’t even appreciate it. She certainly wouldn’t be caught liver-deep in a manticore tail with only a lost dagger to show for it.
It was a pitiful way to go, and Han Sooyoung couldn’t fathom how she’d ended up here.
. . . Whatever. As if she’d ever go down in such a pathetic way, anyway. And—perhaps most importantly—Yoo Sangah was not allowed to be right, no matter how much blood Han Sooyoung had to cough up to keep it that way.
Or not cough up, as it were.
