“Was that a meow?” His Lieutenant said in confusion as he looked him up and down before looking around. But he couldn’t spot a cat.
“No?” Johnny smiled innocently. Another meow. Shit. He was doomed.
“Soap, why is your hoodie meowing?” Ghost said, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.
“Uh…that’s my stomach?” Soap smiled awkwardly. It sounded more like a question than an actual answer. In that moment the small kitten decided to meow again.
“Johnny…” Simons voice was dangerously low as he looked at him with an intense gaze.
Fuck.

Soap spots a small kitten on the side of the road and can’t bring himself to leave it there. So he brings it back to the base, till he could figure out what to do with it. For that though, he has to sneak past Ghost, which was a whole operation itself.

And it is just that; just sleeping. Soap, spread starfish across the bed; Ghost, with his hand carding through Soap’s hair. He smiles softly as Soap moves in his sleep, turning closer to Ghost.
He’s not quite sure how they got here, but he knows it is worth it.
