    All the candles go out with a cold wind. The apartment suddenly gets loud. Dirty dishes in the sink begin to clank, the table starts to jump and rattle, a few small things like dead leaves and scattered pens and pencils float in the air like fish in water.

    This has never happened before.

    Usually, they sit down and hold hands, and then Hawks talks for a while, the client cries, and they leave a hundred bucks richer. Slamming cabinet doors, flickering lights, and floating objects are a new development.

     

    (OR: Hawks and Dabi own a crystal shop where they perform seances on the side. Hawks, a medium spirits can use to communicate with the living world, performs the seances to help people. Dabi, a non-believer, likes the extra money the seances bring to the table. But after a seance gone wrong, Dabi’s beliefs are tested when he starts to worry that whatever was haunting their client followed Hawks home.)
