And the snakes, who are very much alive and might need to get removed surgically. Or magically, whatever's deemed more permanent. So probably surgery as magic leaves traces. Identifiable, accessible and perhaps resurgent traces.
He watches one stir, raising it's head. It's brothers and sisters soon following. Maybe they're all boys because their host is, maybe they're all girls for some reason or maybe they're both or have no gender at all.
The magic that made their bite deadly has abated, but they're moving on their own which could spark a debate on their status. Alive, dead, nothing in the first place.
"Hello, little one..." He whispers, raising one's head with the backs of his pointer- and middle finger under it's jaw. It hisses tiredly, only the top of it's hood visible as it rests it's weight on the support without any attempt at movement on it's own.

The truth is that Kalim has always been too clingy with Jamil. Since they were kids, he has always been constantly seeking his attention and following him everywhere without an ounce of respect for his personal space. It was to be expected that things ended up that way. After all, kisses have always been part of their normal since the start.

But Kalim can’t forget the memory of the hate in Jamil’s eyes.
Sometimes he wishes he was never born as Kalim Al Asim…
One magical book later and Kalim gets what he wants: the opportunity to run away. He takes it, he just didn't expect Riddle and Azul with their own reasons to come along.
Kalim isn't the only one who wants to escape, and when the reflection in the mirror is different - well why not take advantage?
