On Monday morning, the first thing Dina does when she wakes up is check her phone.
There are two long texts from Jesse’s mom from last night, giving her review of the book she’d gifted her for her last birthday; one from Jesse from an hour ago, asking about her hours on Thursday; a missed call from Mel at some ungodly hour, probably to drunkenly gab about her deadbeat boyfriend; but still nothing from any unknown number.
Nothing from Ellie.
