Kevin took a deep breath and went inside. Renee was wide awake, sitting upright and maintaining a careful smile. Kevin sat beside her.
“I don’t want the same parameters that I had with Andrew,” he said.
Renee didn’t miss a beat. “We can discuss the specifics of what you want me to do,” she assured.
Kevin looked at her. Beneath that gentle smile and sweet demeanor was something else, an edge that he hadn’t bothered to notice before. Renee was calm because she was competent. Andrew wouldn’t have let him go if she wasn’t. Kevin had to trust that no matter how little he knew her, Renee Walker knew what she was doing. With her, he would still be safe.

Or: After Neil gets hurt by Ravens' fans, Kevin decides that he needs to find protection with someone other than Andrew. Who better to step up to the plate than Renee Walker?
Note: It's a pretty soft fic. The plot isn't really there, but Renee and Kevin are going to fall in love and that's what matters.

Summary

This is a mountain Jean knows how to climb. It’s a tall peak, and he needs to get started. He needs to prove his value, needs to prove his loyalty. This next year is going to be brutal.
Jeremy Knox likes to win, and even if he can't parallel park in less than fifteen attempts he's finally got his meds figured out and he's got friends who care enough to make him clean his room. And thanks to Kevin, the Trojans are about to poach the best backliner in the league, so he's finally got it all figured out. This next year is going to be awesome.
