Summary
Steve doesn’t register much after he’s saved from the Russian Base under the Starcourt Mall.
He nearly dies in the mall, even with Dustin’s attempts to stop his bleeding. He really was more hurt than any of them noticed.
Thanks to Jim Hopper, he’s patched up and watched over. He trusts this man more than any other authority figure, his own parents included. That could be the desperation, the fact he nearly died in that damn mall, or…well, he doesn’t know.
But he’s happy to stay.

Summary
There are exactly three things that Eddie Munson knows for absolute, undeniable fact about Steve Harrington.
One: Steve is terrifyingly competent in a crisis.
Two: Steve will, without hesitation, throw himself directly between danger and anyone smaller than him.
And three, the one Eddie keeps periodically, catastrophically forgetting.
Steve Harrington was raised rich.
Like… country club Christmas photos, brand-name everything, never-heard-the-word-no rich.
Which means that sometimes, usually when Steve is tired or stressed or pushed slightly out of his comfort zone, the old habits come back in force.
Or Steve is a brat.

All the same, Eddie can’t just go…touching. As much as he’d like to soothe his hands over soft, mole-spattered skin, he can’t.

'Hot tears carved down Steve’s cheeks, while the water rose another inch around his ass and lapped at his shins. He was gonna die! Why did he think building a freakin’ burrow like a bunny was gonna keep him or his pup safe? Now, he was too scared to move, couldn’t feel anything in his hands and feet, other than the stabs of icy pins and needles. His lungs were tight and shuddering and he couldn’t seem to get enough air.

Or, O!Steve is homeless, rejected, and with pup. He’s got to look out for his little one alone, tho’ some Omega instincts—like building nests underground on stormy nights—aren’t particularly helpful. Fortunately, A!Eddie’s on his trail.

Lucas thinks that he’ll calm down once Eddie is back on his feet. Max thinks that he’s being a selfish little drama queen, but she doesn’t really have a leg to stand on when it comes to self-pitying bullshit, so she’s been biting her tongue.

As their kiss deepens, Steve goes to reach for Eddie's hair, and freezes as the black bandana around his wrists binds them together. Eddie smiles against his lips and leans back to whisper, "What'cha trying to do there, Stevie?"
Steve's heart stutters in his chest. He can feel goosebumps starting to form on his arms as Eddie pushes them above his head, wrists still bound, and presses himself back to Steve's chest and continues to kiss him. Steve tries to focus on Eddie's lips, on Eddie's hands cradling his face, even though he can feel the fabric binding his wrists together and the way they press against each other, his pulse seemingly magnified by the dual pounding of each artery, and it's fine, it's okay, he can focus on Eddie and the faint smell of laundry detergent and cigarettes, and Eddie's weight in his lap, and Steve is fine.

“What do you mean what happened?”
“I just…” Jonathan’s eyes flicked up past Steve at the sound of the backdoor creaking open. “Mom.”
Steve turned to see Mrs. Byers’ in the doorway with a glass of water and a bottle of something. Probably the painkillers she’d promised. She gave him a matching look of concern and confusion, although she was quicker to conceal it.
He started to feel hot and embarrassed with the reaction he was getting. It hadn’t been meant to slow anything down, let alone draw everyone’s eyes to his bare chest. He leaned down to grab his soaking wet shirt off the back steps, although it was really just an excuse to look down and away from everyone’s gazes.
Mrs. Byers’ put out a hand as if to tap him on the shoulder and then drew it back like she was worried about hurting him.
“Steve, honey, you can borrow one of Jonathan’s shirts."
