Watching Steve sit alone that first day- even with his ex and her new squeeze crowding his table- former King of Hawkins High with his bruised up face and puppy dog eyes, and apparently, knight in shining armor tendencies, Eddie never stood a chance.
It's Jeff, in the end, that finally badgers Eddie enough to let Steve be dragged over to their table- into Hellfire, and Dungeons & Dragons, and hopefully right into Eddie's arms- after Steve intervenes to stop Jeff being harrassed in the halls.
Now Eddie just needs to figure out what he's going to do with all of it.

Robin has been working at a catalog-- modeling to put herself through college. She gets him a job, hoping he can do this until he gets his ducks in a row. While initially hesitant, Steve is surprised to find that he's good at this-- like really good at it. There's just one catch... he can't fucking stand the photographer. The guy is a total asshole. He's standoffish and rude, and definitely doesn't like Steve much either. Too bad Robin seems to like him and keeps inviting him out with them.

Summary
Steve has had a horrible day, from being passed over for a promotion to being told he can no longer make Dustin’s bachelor party; he has had enough. He takes advantage of his unexpectedly rescheduled week of PTO and books a week-long cruise to the Bahamas before he has to head back to Hawkins for Dustin's wedding. On the cruise, he meets Eddie.
Eddie used to be part of a band called Corroded Coffin, but after a brief stint of fame, they broke up and went their separate ways. Now Eddie is a touring guitarist, along with his drummer and wrangler, Gareth, who helps out bands in need of a substitute guitarist all over the world. With a month off before his next tour, he decides to book a cruise before visiting his uncle Wayne and attending his best friend's wedding.
It doesn’t take long for things to heat up between them, and they are reluctant to part ways after the cruise, but they have prior commitments to honor. Color them surprised when they both show up at Dustin’s wedding as groomsmen.

Eddie was a part of that crowd until by chance he came across Steve's attempt to jump from Hawkins' water tower. Unable to sit back and watch the annoying jock die, Eddie entered into an agreement with Steve. He'd help Steve make a bucket list and if Steve still wanted to die once all the items were crossed off then Eddie wouldn't stand in his way again. Now it's up to Eddie to show Steve that life is worth living, and possibly fall in love along the way.
