Summary
“He can play a little longer,” Carlos agrees. He lets the file slide from his lap onto the floor as he turns fully toward his husband. “He’s a good kid.”
The next day, Carlos is forced to question that statement when he finds the said "good kid" skipping school in a very compromising position. Now, Carlos and TK have to face a parental challenge, complete with a sex talk 2.0 that none of them are prepared for.

Summary
TK and Carlos’ first wedding anniversary is approaching – and Carlos falls asleep during sexy time. An ill-fated first attempt at marriage counseling leads the husbands to remember other occasions when sex and sleep went wrong, yet ultimately brought them closer together. Maybe that will be the case this time, too. Especially if they nail the perfect anniversary gifts. (Coda for 5x05 - Thunderstruck).
TK has thought a few times lately that it would be much easier if he and Carlos were in a fight. Clear lines drawn, and Carlos being the one in the wrong, ideally. The one sleeping on the couch until TK comes to join him, because he can’t sleep without Carlos.
“Scooch over,” he’d demand.
Carlos would scooch, and he’d wrap TK up tightly from behind, saying, “Wouldn’t it be better if we’re both in bed, though?”
“No. Because you’re still banished to the couch.”
“But you’re on the couch too, now.”
“Shut up.”
They’d laugh about it, enter a tickle-wrestle, and kiss and kiss.
But they’re not fighting.

Summary
TK and Carlos face a whole new parenting challenge when six-year-old Jonah is excluded from the class bully’s birthday party, and it seems like he’s even losing his best friend because of it. With the help of Owen, Andrea and Buttercup – and an unexpected turn of events – the husbands find a way to muddle through and heal a couple of little broken hearts.
As soon as Carlos steps out from the passenger side of the truck, silhouetted against the cold white sky, TK’s chest blooms with warmth.
“Papa!” Jonah shouts.
“Hola, mijo!” Carlos shouts back, his hat off because he knows the drill – TK and Jonah will get hit in the face with the brim when they embrace him if he keeps the hat on, and lord knows Jonah’s had enough of things hitting his face for one day.
“What are you doing here?” TK asks. The nice surprise is making him laugh. He hurries along with Jonah, and Carlos jogs to meet them halfway. Sam casually saunters along behind.
Playing cool and corporate, Carlos answers, “Well, sir, when you informed me of what happened, I thought we'd better take a detour and check out the scene.”

Summary
After Sam Campbell is hospitalized during a bust gone wrong, a guilt-filled Carlos eagerly agrees that he, TK and seven-year-old Jonah will look after the Campbells’ dog, Ruby. But when a thunderstorm scares Ruby and she runs away, Jonah goes after her – and suddenly TK and Carlos find themselves in a living nightmare where both dog and kid are missing.
“Hug me ‘til I pop,” Carlos whispers.
Jonah is instantly delighted to have been given a special task, and hugs Carlos with a small roar. Carlos pretends to struggle, rocking Jonah as if to fling him before whisper-shouting, “Ahhh…BOOM!”
It’s the least dramatic popping he’s ever done because they’re in public, but it’s enough to make Jonah giggle and snuggle him for real. Bringing his face out of Jonah’s silky hair, Carlos catches eyes with TK. The way TK returns Carlos’ gaze from across the room makes him feel like he could melt into the floor. It’s a look of longing, admiration, sorrow, desire, all in one. Nobody, Carlos thinks, can have a whole conversation through his eyes like TK Strand-Reyes can, and nobody except Carlos knows exactly what to say in response with his own.

Summary
“Hey,” he says as he leans against the doorway to a bedroom upstairs, Jonah’s room, in fact, where his husband is currently painting the walls green, like Jonah wanted. Carlos is pleased with that; it somewhat fits the theme they’re aiming for, but TK knows he would’ve painted it any color Jonah wanted.
“Hey,” Carlos replies as he continues painting. “Have you finally come to help?”
TK smiles. “Thought I might just enjoy the view.”
Carlos scoffs. “To no one’s surprise.”
