The dial tone disturbed the silence, and Shion pulled away from the phone a moment as his ears adjusted the unexpected volume. Luckily, it did not ring for more than two short moments.
“Hi,” Shion managed, voice hoarse. Not unexpected, given the immense effort it took to even breath properly now.
A beat of quiet passed. Despite fatigue, Shion could not help but give a small smile to the night air, to the empty street.
He could tell. Of course he could tell.

Shion is attacked by another prisoner, and with the help of the rest of Goku Luck, flees into the night. He turns to Hokusai, who helps him recover from the chaos and gives him a bit of peace. (One huge Hokushion hurt/comfort fic! Established relationship between the two. Basically Hokusai taking care of Shion and Shion working through some past trauma.)
