Summary
"You're telling me I broke more than one of your unspoken cowboy rules?" At Ice's nod, he throws his head back in a groan. "What's the other rule?"
There's really no way around it; he's going to have to tell him.
"It's a saying back home, Mav. When a woman takes a man's hat…?"
An oblivious look, that same tilt of the head. Jesus. Is he really going to have to spell it out for him?
"You wear the hat, you ride the cowboy."

Summary
What Tom had not expected was that despite the exhaustion, the bloat from steroids, the soreness from surgery and radiation, and the mental exhaustion of just staying alive, he could still look at Maverick and feel the tendrils of arousal spark to life in his mind. The spirit was willing though the body had no hope of rising to the occasion. And, more shockingly to Tom, Maverick still felt attracted to him.

Summary
"You want me to have sex with you?" Ice asks, certain his jaw is on the floor.
"I'm volunteering my body for science, in the name of friendship," Maverick says. "Whatever you want to do with said offer and said body is up to you."
(Or: Recently divorced Ice has a bi-awakening and wants to "experiment" with someone he trusts. Mav offers to be his sexual guinea pig. Things go about as well as you expect.)

Summary
Maverick doesn’t regret it when he takes the hit, when the last thing he hears before he ejects is Rooster screaming his name.
But then he wakes. Not to a vast, white snowfield behind enemy lines—but to an inverted cockpit of an F-14.
And to Goose, alive and well in the seat behind him.

Or; the time-travel fix-it in which TG:M Maverick wakes up at the start of TG (1986).
