Lottie’s lips brush over her palm again, slow, pressing her teeth softly against the skin near the tiny cut. The sensation sends a jolt through Natalie’s entire body, her stomach twisting at the strange, unbearable intimacy of it.
“Don’t bite it.” Her pulse pounds so loud in her ears she can barely hear her own voice as she mutters, low and warning.
Lottie exhales, lips still grazing her skin. “I want to.”
Natalie almost jerks her hand away this time. Almost. Jen let out an exasperated breath. "She hasn’t died, Rio. But you might soon, if you don’t get your shit together and stop sulking."
"Here, look," Rio shoved her phone in Jen’s face. "She texted me this half an hour ago." She bit at her fingernail, looking genuinely worried. "Do you think she’s trying to ask me to come take care of her?"
