Summary
“Did you know your old teammate is getting married?”
Lando heard the words he didn’t seem to attach any particular importance to them. He barely registered the old teammate part either. All that reached him was the news of yet another wedding in the paddock.
It was perfectly ordinary news. They were all getting to a certain age, most of them had long-term partners and relationships that had lasted for years. It wasn’t exactly surprising that someone would decide to settle down. If anything, it was only a matter of time.
Lando glanced away from the chessboard at one of the notifications at the top of the screen, then returned to the game.
“Oh, Carlos?” he asked, perfectly at ease, almost amused by how easily the answer had come to him.
[…]
“No,” Max said. “Not Carlos.”
For a few seconds, he said nothing more.
Lando stared at him, simply waiting for the name.
Max offered a small smile, still entirely unaware of what that one word was about to do to the person sitting beside him.
“Oscar.”
OR, Lando thought he had made peace with what he and Oscar had left unsaid. He was about to find out how wrong he was.

Summary
Escaping the chaos of London and a painful breakup, Lando Norris accepts a job restoring the ceiling frescoes at St. Mary’s Parish in Richmond. He simply wanted a quiet place to work and clear his head, but the church’s peaceful routine soon takes on a new dimension with the presence of Father Oscar Piastri.
Young and deeply dedicated to the priesthood, Oscar lives a life governed by duty and clearly defined boundaries. However, the painter’s arrival disrupts the order he spent years building. Lando’s laughter, the paints scattered across the nave, and the ease with which he disarms the priest’s guarded demeanor begin to foster an unsettling yet inevitable closeness.
As the weeks go by, the church feels too small to contain what emerges with every lingering glance and late-afternoon conversation. Caught between the fear of crossing a point of no return and the urgency of a desire neither can suppress, they discover that the relief they sought might lie in the very thing that once seemed untouchable.
