He’s already half-way there, so he closes the gap and kisses them, hand hovering over their thigh. He feels it, burning in his gut, a push and pull between them. Where Bloodhound goes, he does as well, searching for them everywhere he goes. And where he goes, Bloodhound follows, tracing his footsteps to him.

Pomni really was no threat.
She shouldn’t be. She couldn’t be.
Jax knew that one didn’t have a lot of good options when it came to love in the circus. There wasn’t anything remotely attractive physical-wise if that was what one came for. But someone as refined and as beautiful and heavenly as Ragatha falling for an anxiety gremlin like Pomni was simply unheard of. They were just too different.
Ragatha was like Aphrodite - lovely and filled out. Everything about her was soft and sweet, and whatever she went, a scent of strawberries tickled Jax’s non-existent nose. What someone like that could ever see in Pomni, Jax didn’t know.
