Summary
"Alright, breakfast is just about ready! Time to put the phones away,” Qifrey instructed from his place in the kitchen.
The girls were bundled into their chairs in various stages of wakefulness, a chain reaction having gone off when the smell of bacon had made it out of the central part of the house and down the hall to their bedrooms. Usually Agott was up first and the catalyst to the other girls getting out of bed, but after last night and seeing the consternation on Olruggio’s face when her and Coco had finally made it home, she had wanted to hide under her covers for as long as decorum would let her. That left Richeh to be the one to make the first move, unable to resist the allure of pork and knowing that Qifrey would make her wait until all the others were at the table before she could eat. She had first gone to her roommate, Tetia, and then Tetia had excitedly gone to knock on the other girls’ door until Coco answered, bleary eyed, and finally all three girls were able to get Agott to venture down the hall with them and see what kind of weekend spread their foster-dad had gotten up to.

Summary
The moment holds and then slowly relaxes, viscose as molasses as the sounds slowly trickle back: the crickets in the long grass singing their lullabyes, the last plane of the night returning home to the regional airport, the hum of the streetlamps cheering them on. Coco is a rhythmic in and out of breath next to her, displacing the air and then handing it back to her, never the type of person to take more than she’s willing to give. Everything is encased in amber and hung like an ornament in the back of her mind, sealed with a repetition glyph where she can admire it over and over ‘til the end of time, a fragile memory of a time when she let herself bleed outside her carefully drawn lines.

Summary
The moon hung bright in the sky as Boq made his way down quiet streets to the stable. Most students were out in the main square of the city, at pubs, at shows, at the edge of their inhibitions and flirting with that last step over the ledge. He had put on an act of abstaining, citing his poor family in Munchkinland putting all of their eggs into the basket of his education. The other boys put on airs of accolading his sacrifices for studiousness, but he kept his true subject of study close to his chest. He keeps his moonlit fieldtrips to study the female form inconsistent, lest it develop into a pattern. He would hate to see himself turn into a man who could be described as lecherous. It was merely a past time, one spurred on tonight by the grace of someone who indulged in schadenfraude too often to be considered a friend, but who he couldn’t deny the title of confidant.
