    Being turned into vampires without warning and without a guiding hand rips two women out of their normal lives. Their attempts to find some new routine never bring them peace for long, forcing them to keep making their ways across Vardoran. As they travel, they discover the chapter of history that created the world they lived in is far from closed, and that there is a world of magic clawing its way back into the light.

    This is an exploration of the world of V Rising that started with the intention of using the vampire rules from Vampire the Masquerade (5th edition), but got away from me in the back half to bring more magic into it.

    Annabeth peered through the peep-hole and found a man in a black suit and dark sunglasses waiting outside. She blinked in surprise before opening the door, making sure her sword arm was hidden behind it. There was still a chance this could be a monster, but she didn’t want to take the risk of scaring a mortal with whatever the Mist made them see, especially a mortal who looked like a government official.

    “Good morning, Miss,” the man smiled politely, stretching out his hand. “I am Phil Coulson, an agent of SHIELD. Is this the residence of Perseus Jackson?”
