After a grueling akuma battle, all Adrien wants is a nice hot shower before meeting up with his friends. But when his plumbing bursts, he's left with the unfortunate stench of sewer water. Alya, ever the quick thinker, offers her place for him to clean up while they wait for Marinette to return home. Little does Adrien know, Alya has a much bigger plan in mind. As he finally relaxes under the soothing stream of hot water, Marinette bursts into the bathroom, assuming it's Alya in the shower. She starts confessing secret after secret, unaware that it's Adrien who's hearing every word.

He would have to be punished. The President was powerful, he knew—years of experience had taught Atsushi how to tell, how to know where a blow would land. The President was kind, too, but surely there would be some consequences for this. That was how it worked.
Atsushi's hands did not shake. They weren't allowed to. He dug his fingernails into his palms and felt the pain spike in them. (The feeling matched the wound on his side, slowly healing with the help of Byakko, red staining his clothes.) It numbed him, and when he released his fist, he could feel sticky blood on his palm. It would prepare him for what was to come.

They wanted the Kim Dokja who they fought with side-by-side, who they fought for when he could no longer, who they fought against when he played the villain for them; yet now even on his best days, he can only get out of bed with the help of two pairs of hands and manage ten or so steps with a walker before he’s out of breath and his heart rate goes crazy from the stress.
But what they got is just a messed-up, sad version of him.
They fought through worldlines and re-lived the scenarios in order to get him — all of him — back, so Kim Dokja thinks it's only fair that he do his part to return them the companion they so longed for. But even on his good days, he can fight off the exhaustion for only so long.
He just simply isn't what he used to be.
