    They had two tasks for her. One was fairly simple, the other... Much more dangerous.

    Tarre Vizsla was insane and her own Master was a crazy Jedi according to some.

    Tarre Vizsla charged her with saving his people from their destruction. He claimed she had Mandokarla.

    That was a load of bantha poodoo. She was no Mandalorian. The meddling armored Jedi was wrong. What he wanted was a job for an actual Mandalorian.

    If only she knew what Tarre Vizsla had up his armored vambraces.

    You bet your butt, she would have refused. But maybe... Just maybe... She might have Mandokarla after all.

    Friend? That was all Shadow saw him as? Sonic will admit he went into the woods far away from the city and screamed his frustration. No one heard his cry of anger and despair.

    So Sonic buried his emotions down deep and grew satisfied with being the best damn friend Shadow would ever have. But… this spring that promise grew harder to keep.

    As he said, it wasn’t even May and the urges were stronger than they ever were before. He was going to die. He was going to go feral and they would have to lock him up or euthanize him because he would not make it another year like this.

    This year had to be the last. Or else.

    This year… something had to give. He was going to explode and let out a bunch of stuff that scared him and would chase Sonic out of his life faster than he could blink. There was stuff that was weird and bizarre and Shadow didn’t even know the true depth of what all he was experiencing. Something must give or Shadow was going to do something indecent.

    Tails had enough of this dance between Sonic and Shadow. Every year the mating season antics between them got more and more violent and aggressive. Shadow was almost getting his team disbanded by their bosses, Sonic nearly took Knuckles' face off, Sonic came home with a broken arm. All that was last year. This year, Tails firmly was saying no. He was going to get those stubborn hedgehogs together or so help him... he would do... something bad. He hoped their friends were up for the task.
