Summary
In a desperate bid for freedom, Gregor made a run for the Outskirts. His travel companion, another escaped inmate, another test subject, was stranger than any man he’d met prior. His lack of disgust was a godsend. His lack of compassion was bewildering. His mechanical reliability and flagrant lack of morality, astounding.
Gradually, Gregor began to suspect that this man might not have been like most other people. He might not have been human at all.
