Leo tears her eyes away from her door, feet still frozen in front of it, and looks back to the notes she had written. There's five of them, one for each brother as well as April and Casey. “Are you good, Red?” Casey asked. Her voice held no malice to it, more confusion than anything. Raph only hummed. Talking felt like too much, even moving his jaw made the tension against his eyes so much worse. Casey hummed herself, skeptical. She pushed at his shoulder again, earning a small grimace and second questioning hum.
“You’re a liar. What’s wrong? You’re not talking,” she says. Raph has half a mind to comment on how observant she is, but for the sake of this short-winded relief he keeps his mouth shut. Casey grabs hold of his hands, impossibly big in her own, and attempts to pull him up. She fails, despite her efforts.

Leaving Derry as a child was the second hardest thing Richie "Trashmouth" Tozier had ever done, with the first being leaving the first person he'd ever loved in a creepy, crumbling sewer house.
If you asked him at age fourteen what he thought would take that place he would have told you one of two things. In a serious light? "Killing that fucking clown." In a not so serious light? "Trying not to fuck Eddie's mom."
He'd laugh about his answer and Eddie's complaining but they both knew what he meant. At age fourteen his answer would be a vulgar joke that, in their little language, translated to "trying not to love Eddie Kaspbrak."
