It's increasingly becoming a world where the unbelievable happens every day. The Avengers team includes a defrosted World War Two solider, a giant green rage monster and a man who might be a God; and they battle aliens and magic on a regular basis. It's not too far fetched to believe the Devil walks Hell's Kitchen.
Matt, on the other hand, hasn't realised exactly why his new battle buddies seem terrified of him. It's not like they've even heard the rumors about him being the Devil... right?

Dropping his bag to the couch, Foggy turned toward the half closed bedroom door. To the left the bathroom light was still nonexistent, but there were to his eyes no dead vigilantes inside. His eyes flicked instead toward the bed, which was empty, naturally, the silk sheets twisted and draping off to the far side by the window. Light streamed, as it always did at all hours of the day and night, and Foggy noticed with a start five pale toes peeking out from under the cascade of sheets. In two quick strides he was at the far side of the bed, standing over a very tangled, very pathetic Matthew Murdock.
“What the actual fuck, Matt.”

Summary
Foggy and Matt never met at school. They cross paths for the first time while working opposite sides of a case, and Matt doesn't leave an impression beyond the superficial: a blind, pro-bono crusader who Foggy will feel really guilty about having to oppose in court one of these days. Seemed like a nice guy, but no one Foggy will worry about a week later.
He has more important things on his mind, like the masked vigilante who keeps cornering him in dark alleys to threaten him for information.

When Matt starts waking up in the mornings covered in bruises, he starts to wonder if he has been sleepwalking.
When Matt starts waking up with knife wounds that have been stitched up, he really starts to panic.
When Matt wakes up and Foggy is there, accusing him of lying and running around the city as a masked vigilante, he thinks Foggy is making it up. He couldn't possibly be doing that... could he?
Where Matt is still Daredevil, he just doesn't know he is Daredevil.

After Fisk is out of the way, Matt falls hard into a depressive spell. Thankfully Foggy is there with his constant support to help him get back up.

Matt shrugged one shoulder. "I just--we agreed no more lies. About--what I can do. And I was thinking about him." He loathed to admit it, but he still managed to think about Jared a lot, even with everything else. Sometimes he just snuck into Matt's brain.
Now that Matt's promised Foggy that he won't lie about his abilities or nighttime activities anymore, he takes it upon himself to tell Foggy some of the old lies too.
