Summary
I wanted to taste the goop is perhaps the worst origin story ever written, Gavin is sure of it. In his defense, Tina should not leave sentient-looking black ooze sitting unlabeled in the lab - even if it was sealed until Gavin began playing with it.
He had initially only meant to watch it slush around in the container as he tossed it from hand to hand, but the strange alien content seemed to call to him. When he dropped the container and broke the seal, the next logical step was to lick the substance.
