Jayce slowly removes his hands to see the other man's reaction. He didn't expect Viktor to be positively beaming. His lab partner looks at him with such adoration, like Jayce had just... What, eradicated World Hunger? Right there, on Viktor's living room couch.
"I see. I think I'm just... Well, happy. And surprised. I thought I had seen all the right signs, but even so..." Viktor's voice takes a gloomy turn. "There was always a high probability that it was only my wishful thinking." His eyes dive to the ground, and Jayce feels almost angry.
He gently takes Viktor's cheek and turns his face to him.
"Viktor. I've got this massive crush on you ever since you... Well, interrupted my attempt to throw myself off a ledge. And if saving my sorry ass wasn't enough that one time, you just kept doing it."

Stede stops talking. Ed is suddenly very serious, maybe the most serious Stede has ever seen him.
"Get on this fucking bed and fuck my fucking brains out of my skull. Right. Now."

So that's how he wants it, alright. The alleged "feral beast" takes over again, and in the blink of an eye Stede is on top of Ed, straddling him to the bed. And they're kissing again, with tongue, again, and Stede feels like that's something important to highlight.

Something poking his thigh reminds him that Ed slept commando last night. Gosh, last night. Is this all truly happening? Stede's sore butthole screams "you bet it is!", but he's still not entirely convinced. His life has never been this good. Not even when he felt the freedom of being out at sea for the first time. Not even when his children were born (sorry kids).
And he spent the night in a fucking rotting shack. There were probably insects in his hair and nothing to shield his face from the early morning sun, but he was the happiest man alive.
"Hnm... Stede."

Ed woke up to a sound he couldn't quite place or understand. He tried to sit up from where he was sleeping - just thrown across Stede's starfishing form on the bed - but the headache from all the booze was so strong he just groaned and fell right back into his own puddle of drool on Stede's chest.
"I think there's... There's a cat dying. On deck."
"A what?" Stede woke up startled and began trying to crawl free from under Ed's weight.
"I dunno. Sounds like someone found a cat and they're trying to murder it or somethin'." Ed mumbled, shifting to let Stede get up from bed.

Ed stood by Stede's side and stared at what would easily enter his top 5 Weird Things He Saw at Sea: a crying baby inside a basket inside a rowboat completely by themselves.
