As Tim and Nolan get closer, it becomes clear this is about the blood draw. Joshua Kendall already gave his consent, not that he had much of a choice. But clearly, mom wants to make this more difficult than it needs to be.

Watching Miles squirm like this is entertaining, but he wasn’t actually there and has no idea what happened—and Kendall’s mom needs to back off.

I was asked to write a one shot centered around a very pregnant Lucy dragging Tim to a store in the middle of the night to fulfil a late-night craving. While they're shopping, the store they're at gets robbed and the two of them become hostages. During all the chaos, Lucy's water breaks so Tim ends up having to juggle how to keep Lucy safe and getting them out of there safety without escalating the situation. So to say he was utterly terrified about bothering his TO in the middle of the night was an understatement. Really, he should just leave and camp the night out in his truck.
“Penn.” His TO’s sharp tone stopped him in his tracks, involuntarily wincing.
God, he was so screwed.
Or: Miles' car breaks down in the middle of the night and with a dead phone, he has no choice but to walk to his T.O.'s house.
