Summary
This is a short poem inspired by the nickname for Megatron "buckethead" that gets thrown around occasionally. I noticed that this nickname is primarily used by Autobots and is used only in a derogatory manner. I think that it could have a classist connotation to it because they are specifically making fun of a trait related to Megatron's pre-ordained function. I also find this especially interesting because Megatron's helmet is the only vestige of his body's original design that remains across his many different reframes. So, I thought "what if it's a derogatory term for miners and/or other manual class Cybertronians?"

1984. The Autobots and Decepticons have brought their war to Earth. Every day, Megatron hunts for new, plentiful sources of energon to fuel his conquest.
In other words, what would Megatron do if he found out there were exploited miners on Earth as well?

This is my observation of IDW2005 Megatron's many reframes throughout that comic run. He had far more design changes than any other character in that whole continuity. This fic can also be seen as a bit of a companion piece to my Buckethed fic, which also explores Megatron's relationship with his frame but in a different aspect.
I like to headcanon Megatron as trans (or the Cybertronian equivalent of it at least). Many aspects of this fic are drawn from my own relationship with gender and transition.

Rodimus could not be happier for them. Really. Truly.
