It was weird for Penguin to see Law with a mate after years of helping him with custom suppressants and helping him with his own scent. Penguin was an original heart pirate and grew up with Law, so the Beta rule didn’t apply to him; he was an Alpha but, honestly, not the showiest or aggressive kind, making his gender fly under the radar for most.
A small part of the Alpha missed helping his friend and Captain with his gender needs.

Summary
When the Strawhat's new snails decide to get frisky, it's Sanji's snail who ends up impregnated by Zoro's snail.
When Robin suggests this is because the snails picked up on Sanji and Zoro's subconscious desire to bang, Sanji falls into a comedic spiral of angst and self-doubt. Because he can't hook up with anyone unless he's half in love with them, and there's no way Zoro would ever care about him more than just a hookup, and he's not going to put himself through all of that.
Meanwhile, Zoro knows the cook is a hysterical moron. Maybe it's time he does something about that.

It's all too common a scene - Sanji can only admit he wants Zoro when he's drunk, Zoro has to grapple with knowing he and Sanji could be so happy if only Sanji could bring himself to be honest when they're both sober, and in the morning he has to deal with things going back just the way they were without hope of any resolution between them, sexual or otherwise.
Except this time it's the morning-after and Sanji is dropping heavy hints he remembers EXACTLY what happened between them during their last drunken rendezvous-

"it's sexy when Sanji has to - or chooses to - vocalise what he wants before he can get it", the fic. What was originally PWP that ran away from me and now covers Sanji's load-bearing heterosexuality (self-inflicted), character introspection for he and Zoro both, and a burgeoning romance. Complete but may be expanded on.
