“Theo? Can you tell me what’s wrong?”
“He didn’t come home.” He stutters his way through the sentence, like it’s the scariest thing he’s ever said. Like he’s forcing himself to say it but doesn’t understand why it’s so scary, just that it is. Josh frowns at the screen in response. Tentatively types, possibly abandoned.
Jesus. What the hell is wrong with people these days?
“Who didn’t come home, Theo? Your dad?”
Theo, 5. Child in distress. Possibly abandoned.
The radio crackles with acknowledgment as Theo exhales shakily. It’s wet, like he’s building up all the courage his little body has to offer. “My Buck.”

Or, Theo calls 9-1-1 because Buck doesn't come home after he gets hurt on a shift.

"He doesn't have a fever," she informed the team, Buck groaning as she tilted his face from side to side. "But he does look a little pale."
"I'm always pale," he pushed her hand away, growing irritated. He appreciated their concern, really, but he was fine. "Stop worrying."
"Says the guy who was struck by lightning last year," Chim quipped. "Face it, Buckley. We're never not going to worry about you."

Buck groans into the kiss, his hands sliding down to grip Eddie’s hips, pulling him impossibly closer, his resolve crumbling instantly. “You're gonna make us late,” Buck manages when they pull apart for a second.
Eddie smiles against his mouth. “You don't sound very upset about it.”
“I'm trying to be responsible,” Buck insists, though his fingers are already slipping under the shirt to run along Eddie’s back.
“Mm-hm.” Eddie presses another kiss to Buck’s mouth, then another to his jaw. “And how’s that working out for you?”
