Summary
Despite the pounding of his head and the ache of his back (boy, was that one gonna bruise), Le Frog pulled himself up from the ground. He couldn’t let himself stay vulnerable in the streets of Rockfall, especially when those fledgling heroes could be after him.
Just as quickly as he had gotten up, his legs gave way beneath him, and he fell back to the ground. As he waited for the impact, it never came. Instead, he felt arms wrap around him and struggle to keep him upright. With this stranger’s help, Le Frog slowly got to his feet once more. He had no clue who would help him, but he certainly never expected the familiar face in front of him.

Basically filling in the time between Tide leaving the Prime Defenders and meeting up with Wavelength to get his powers back. And on the way they have some tough conversations, close encounters, roadtrip gas station snack meetings and fall hard and fast into love.

It was late, they probably shouldn’t have been walking this late at night, especially in this part of town but Mark was there. He was big and scary, and acting with full guard dog privileges. The mission– it’s still odd to be doing missions with Mark –didn’t go smoothly but the job was done.
And fuck, they were tired.
or: Mark and William's mission ends bad, their car explodes and they have to walk home but then, shit hits the fan and Mark gets shot.
