Gripping the handrail, Nancy stumbled down the stairs, her white shirt stained pink. She threw Jonathan a lazy smile and rested her hand on his shoulder before swaying towards the direction where her friends danced with the rest of the crowd. Jonathan frowned, brows knitted, and stared after her. What happened? Weren't they having the time of their lives only a few hours ago?
Without hesitation, Jonathan turned and followed Steve out the front entrance. An immediate calling he'd be foolish to ignore. After closing the door, Jonathan took a few steps before his gaze landed on Steve who sat on the porch steps, rubbing at his face. Holding his breath, Jonathan froze like a frightened deer, scared to make any sort of noise in case it caused the moment to splinter apart. The area was quiet, nobody else around to disturb the opportunity before him. Gaining the courage, Jonathan took control of his stiff legs and perched himself next to Steve.

Mike nods with a little frown. “Yes.”
“Hmm…” With his eyes on his drawing, Will reaches up and around Mike’s back. He sneaks his hand into Mike’s curls and ruffles them playfully. Mike squawks indignantly and bats him away with an endearingly frustrated frown.
“No. Cuddles,” Mike insists, wearing an adorable frowny pout.
Will snickers. He’s so cute when he’s angry.
Will is trying to tutor Mike—like he’s been hired to do—but Mike has other ideas in mind. Will is not complaining.

He looks back to Will, and this time catches his hazel eyes. Will smiles, and Mike breath stutters and stops. It’s what breaks him. It’s the most perfect thing—Will is the most perfect creature. All Mike can do is stare at his cherubic face and curved lips with an insatiable, all-consuming hunger. He’d get down on his knees and pray if it meant Will would always smile at him like this. Mike would ask for nothing else to drive him over the edge.
Maybe this is his punishment—to be driven mad by need.
Mike knows his next move is stupid—he’s going to look back on this, hold his head in his hands, and muffle a mortified scream—but he really is helpless here.
It’s been nearly a month since Mike met Will. In Mike’s opinion, that’s 27 days too long forbidden from who he desires.

It shouldn’t have been so difficult, they’d been together - officially - since November. Almost six months and something still seemed to hold him back, both of them back, really.
