Summary
Zayn was content with his life as it was. A promising and fulfilling career only just beginning. The two best mates a lad could ever ask for, a rare found family anyone would be grateful to have. Not much luck in love, but he didn’t need nor expect to have it all. That simply isn’t in the cards for everyone, and he’d accepted the fact long ago.
Until Liam walked into his life, and made Zayn wonder if there was a chance he did want to find a way to be truly happy…though it was never going to happen overnight. He had a lot to work through from his distant past to more recent trauma. Liam just might be worth facing all the pain, the promise of everything that could be staring right at him through big, brown puppy dog eyes.
This is mostly Zayn’s personal journey at the backdrop of a Ziam love story. A lot of angst, plenty of fluff, a good amount of smut and some (or many) ot5 antics along the way.

running into each other's arms in the rain (idk why but i just thought of this like imagine 7 year old ziam saying goodbye in the rain cause zayn is moving, then they meet years later when they’re men and they so like each other and Liam falls for him but he discovers late that Zayn’s got a boyfriend and he pines for him so bad trying to be the good friend he is when Zayn’s boyfriend proposes and Zayn says yes but he actually wasn’t sure felt trapped or idk and after Liam acts different and Zayn is hurt but then he somehow knows he’s in love with him but Liam was leaving and the engagement party his boyfriend’s doing is the same night but he just can’t and he goes to Liam’s house only to catch him before he gets to the taxi running into his arms just like he did years ago)

I’ve seen it. Failing’s a bit much, isn’t it? Fuck him.”
“Bet he’s tried to,” Harry offers, and Niall bursts into a fit of giggles over that, which is like—honestly. Liam just thinks he’s attractive. It’s not even that big of a deal. They make more of a fuss over it than he does.
