Summary
“Jack.” She grits his name out, her voice cutting through the music lowly playing through the speakers.
Jack hums, glancing over at her with a too innocent arch of his eyebrow. “What?”
“You know what.”

The bar is twenty steps long, maybe, give or take, and he takes them without processing a single one. He is aware of the following things, and the following things only: his heart rate (fast), the number of people between him and the back corner (six: a duo and a group of four), his hands (numb), and the fact that Samira's hair is longer than it used to be (and soft, he can tell).

Summary
Samira's feet pad across the cold floor as she makes her way back to bed, the room quieter now without the howling wind. Jack's arms snake around her waist, drawing her in closer, stealing Samira's heat but also giving her some of his. They lie there like that for a minute, her thumb tracing along his collarbone. "Morning," he smiles.
Samira smiles back. "Good morning."
