And yes, I need three parts to get through all of it. The mountain alone... oh boy.

Summary
Biologist Kyle Garrick is in charge of the team taking care of Toun Foindle, the guarded nature reserve no. 141 in Scotland. It was set up to protect a nesting forest of Scottish crossbill and a very rare grey seal mer colony. All is going well, except the never-ending influx of nosy tourists overstepping boundaries and poachers trying to steal the mers for private collectors, until his husband, journalist and mer rights activist Gary Garrick, gets a target on their back by messing with a wealthy private collector.

Where witchers are death, and Jaskier is a bard with a flare for the dramatic who keeps saying he wants to “just die” in any given situation.
To Jaskier, this is just a figure of speech. To Geralt, it is very definitely flirting.
When he decides to finally court the bard, it doesn't quite go as expected, and he finds out just why it is so easy for Jaskier to flirt with death.---000---
Geralt tilts his head to listen, the corner of his mouth twitching upward. The bard has been flirting with him for weeks now, exclaiming he could just die, all over Oxenfurt. At first, Geralt thought the man was being dramatic and didn’t know what he was doing, but no one is that theatrical.
“Little shit at it again?” Lambert grouses. “Just fucking court him already, pretty boy. Or I might just do it for you.”

Jaskier has a bit of foresight, an intense hatred for Destiny and too much hunger to stop pulling Geralt’s strings of fate.
Or, maybe Jaskier was shovelling shit after all.A rewrite of Jaskier’s time at Geralt’s side before parting ways at the mountain.
“I think I loved you,” Geralt whispers, frightened.
No. No, please, no.
“Oh honey, you loved the idea of me, you never knew me.” Jaskier grins even broader. Silly, silly Witcher. He clenches his jaw at the snap of a sudden pain. Of betrayal.
“Why Jask? Why would you do such a thing?” Pain is so evident on the Witcher’s face, Geralt should never look like that.
“For I hurt, Geralt. I hurt like you can’t imagine! The hunger, it aches, it never stops.” It never ever does, he needs to keep destructing. Needs to keep himself fed.Bookmarked by Momodei1991
