Summary
After a minute of nothing but hearing the wind blow past his ears, the bike's engine, and Rust's hums, he finally felt his organs go back to how they were meant to. The bike slowed to a halt and the engine stopped running. Tesla felt Rust start to get off the bike, which to him was a signal to open his eyes. Before he even got a chance to register what was happening, he felt Rust slam his hand on his face.
“Wha- Rust!” Tesla grabbed his hand, trying to move it.
“Hold on! You’ll spoil it for yourself, close your eyes, and let me lead you.”
Today seemed like the day Rust turned on his charm because Tesla, despite himself, did what Rust asked. He felt Rust take his hand off his face, then felt Rust's hand take his own, feeling himself flush under his mask. As Rust softly led him off the bike,one hand on his back. Rust led them forward, carefully making sure to watch where they stepped.
“Okay, here we are, go ahead and open your eyes.”

“Got it.” Rust grins. “Take as much as you need.”
“Half,” Doc says. “We’ll take half now, and the rest in a week’s time. I believe Tesla has set up the necessary measures to store what we remove—”
“Relax, Doc. I’m not a baby. I got this.” Rust turns his attention over to Tesla. “Take it all. Doc’ll patch me right up after.”
Tesla glances over their shoulder. “If you pass out from the blood loss, I’ll stop, but I have seen you shrug off major injuries and head wounds as if they’re nothing, so I believe it’ll be fine.”

Tesla needs a rather specific amount of mostly-human flesh. Luckily, Rust is willing to give it up — and Doc is there to patch him up right after.

“What the hell..?”
Rust turns at the sound of Tesla’s voice. They’re picking through sheets of paper on the bench, skimming over them before discarding each one in favour of another. He takes in a breath, and steps over towards them. “What is it?”
“Biochemistry…” Tesla squints at the calculations written in the same looping handwriting as the letter had been written in. “What the hell did it want with my research into biochemistry?”

Tesla receives an invitation to view a newly completed project. This does not bode well for any of them.
