He ends up jammed into a pod with Rex, who’s so stiff and uncomfortable Howzer wonders if he did something in the last week to get on his bad side. There hadn’t been any signs, they’d worked well together, achieved each objective with time to spare and with minimal civvy casualties. Who knows, maybe Rex is just like that when he’s in his pod.

Summary
She doesn’t trust him yet. Even though she’s taken that thing out of his head, knows he never had a Jedi assigned to him to assassinate. Kept his promise to Cham and Eleni under threat of his own demise.
But he made it. With a stripe in his close shaved skull, and a ten year old to keep safe with the help of an ex-Jedi who, albeit subtly, seems more interested in fighting The Empire than evading it.
An AU where Howzer's the one to help Hera escape Ryloth, and finds himself entangled in a mess that's nothing like the one he found himself in under the command of The Empire.
