"Oh?" the Night couldn't help his reaction. His lips turning up on the corners as Nicaise felt the ideas and possibilities starting to run through his mind. The night was his time to get work done, but he knew he could reserve some time to spend amongst brothers. Nicaise knew Laurent’s weaknesses too well.
The Day only laughed again. "And what game do you suggest, brother? It better be a challenge, or else I can't see how Laurent would postpone his duties to entertain us."

He closed his eyes, and barely noticed that the river singing was slightly and subtly changing, turning into almost understandable words and sentences, a voice almost human but still mystic, it wasn't the river who was singing anymore.

He found the strength to leave and go to the living room, where Auguste and Damen were too focused on the movie they were watching to realize he was there. Or so he thought, until Damen turned to him and smiled. Fuck.
“Do you want to watch it with us? It just started…”, and he was still smiling. And Auguste now was looking at him, and smiling too. Not like Damen, no. He was smiling because he knew. They were both on the couch, one on each side, and Damen was signaling with his hand to the almost non-existent space between them.
