Summary
Cliff tries not to be put off by the fact that Roz is so intent on keeping Jane a secret. Despite what people might assume, Roz is the kind of guy that keeps the things that matter close to his chest. In the moment, Cliff grins at Roz and says, “man, fuck you”, but in his head, he begins to plot. He’s going to learn more about this Montreal Jane, with or without Roz’s help.
Or, Ilya Rozanov is not nearly as subtle as he thinks he is, and Cliff Marleau is a good friend.

“Listen, I know the sweater is ugly, but it’s rude to stare,” Shane said peevishly. He was overstimulated and wanted to go home, the last thing he needed was some dickhead staring at him.
Ilya took a long drag of his cigarette, eyes still not leaving Shane.
“Maybe staring is not bad thing,” Ilya said. “Maybe I stare because you are very pretty.”
Shane floundered before he could form real words. “Well. That’s stupid.”

“You liked that didn’t you?” Shane said with a smug little expression on his face.
Really too many people called Ilya an asshole when Shane was just as bad, or worse. Shane just hid it better, because Canada’s perfect golden boy could do no wrong.
Ilya moved to cross his arms over his chest and lean back against the headboard, hating how it put even more space between them, but not being able to let Shane think he was right.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
