    The light hums and flickers above the table where Joker sits patiently. He looks bored, one leg crossed over the other. “You were saying?”

    “You seem awfully composed for having just taken a bullet to the head,” Akechi notes with a frown.

    The prisoner shrugs. “It wasn’t anything I haven’t seen before.”

    The comment shouldn’t bother him, but Akechi finds himself partly insulted nonetheless. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was meant to entertain my mark before killing them.”

    “I’d rather you not kill me at all, actually,” Joker says with a bitter look. Akechi scoffs.

    “Oh, don’t be such a baby, it’s not like it matters anyways,” he says dryly.

But in the end, he missed Akechi, of course he did. Akira wanted to feel him in his arms again, to feel the rise and fall of his chest... But the only way Akira could help himself out of those dreary nights with dreary thoughts was to remember exactly what he’d lose:

    "As much as I want to feel you in my arms again, the coffee on your lips would never taste as sweet."
