Ventus got his heart broken in half by Xehanort as he failed to satisfy his Master, and was then discarded and left to die. But thanks to Sora, he healed and gained a new life, and a new family.

Summary
The Duel of the Heirs, a competition held to decide who is going to be the next ruler of the kingdom, is near. Jack, a lonely magic-user, manages to find the long-Lost Princess Rapunzel, which means that the duel everyone has been expecting since her disappearance won't take place, and his troubles will finally end. He’s not back with grandfather at the league of assassins. He’s not training with brutal, inhumane tactics that leave him battered and bruised, questioning his worth every moment. His limbs don’t ache and he can’t taste blood in his mouth. He’s not fighting to the death.
He’s safe.
He takes in another deep breath and wipes at his face with the back of his long sleeve pyjama shirt, feeling the dampness from his eyes. The bright blue colour and soft material is another ridiculous, yet comforting reminder he is safe. Back at the league they wore itchy shirts and trousers to sleep. Practical incase of an emergency, but not comforting in the slightest. At home, Bruce - and mainly Dick, subject him to bright, colourful and incredibly gentle children's pyjamas with inane prints and matching designs.
