A cold hand suddenly wrapped around his tail, fingers digging into the sensitive nerves lying directly beneath the skin.
Mob screeched, a high-pitched sound layered heavily with static as he jolted in the opposite direction of the overwhelming sensation. His tail jerked away from the touch, and wrapped itself tightly around his leg, stiff as a board. But before Verity could pull his hand back, Mob had already whipped around and sunk his sharpened canines deep into the offending appendage.
