Summary
The beginning of chapter 1 coincides precisely with “Homeland” chapter 27, “Untroubled Dreams.” To recap quickly, Drizzt has returned from a surface raid, claiming to have killed an elf child. In truth, he spared the child, angering Lolth. While sparring with Zaknafein, the fight turns serious, as Zak means to kill Drizzt for the elf child’s murder. Drizzt confesses his innocence, and Zak reveals his own secret- that he is Drizzt’s father. The two embrace and part amicably. Unbeknownst to them, Malice and Briza are watching the scene unfold via scrying. Feeling unburdened of his worries, Zak goes to bed. Drizzt, however, decides to defy Matron Malice’s curfew and take a walk to think.

Jorlan Duskryn, now prisoner of the heroes of Velkynvelve, has left a trail of ash behind him. Lost in the surface world, with no home to return to, the druid Mavash tries to convince him of his bright future.
Based on the latter half of my playthrough of the "Out of the Abyss" adventure. But, like, with more feels, elf fancying, and spreading friendship across the Underdark.
While there are some inevitable spoilers, our campaign is very different from the rules-as-written module, and the focus here is more on characterization and emotion than plot, anyway. Don't be scared away if you haven't played the module!

Final chapter: "Ulin." Mavash and her companions return to the surface without Jorlan. He'd told Mavash this isn’t goodbye — but is he as good as his word? COMPLETE.
