"So, it was you...Khaslana " his voice echoed into the quiet infirmary, he was staring at him without breaking eye contact, his expression was pained, strangely guarded, his body tense as if Phainon was a threat he had to annihilate, but all that mattered was that he could see him recovering his health, the sharpness in his tone was something Phainon didn’t register at all.
"You finally remembered!" Phainon breathed, his face brightened, shining similar to how Kephale's light would embrace his beloveds, although he preferred to be called Phainon, he couldn't care less about how Mydei was addressing him, to be called by him was all he yearned for, he was the dawn he wanted to hold, the one and only selfish desire he yearned for.
"You attacked my comrades… slaughtered them, over and over and over, crushing their hopes and dreams...yet you dare...you dare to show your face to me?" His voice was unrecognizable, too unfamiliar, too cold, no softness left to be found, the venom in his words shattered something inside him, striking him like a physical blow, or perhaps even worse.

Summary
The Temple of Silence discovers a remarkably intact set of ruins in the desert. At the ruins' heart is an altar, and around the altar are dozens of skeletons, all intact and undisturbed. It's as if the people who died there simply fell asleep and never woke up.
While investigating the mystery, Al-Haitham falls into a slumber from which he cannot be woken. It becomes clear that without intervention, whatever killed the people in the temple is going to kill him, too. With the combined assistance of Lord Kusanali and a mysterious Ratnik, Kaveh plunges into the realm between death and dreaming to bring Al-Haitham home.
Even with nothing but shattered remnants left to find, Kaveh knows the shape of Al-Haitham's soul as well as he knows his own. He'll put Al-Haitham back together piece by piece if he has to—and in the process, maybe he'll put the pieces of their relationship back together, too.
