    The familiar voice hits Sasuke like a fist to the chest and he tears his eyes away from the Konoha escort- who was running his fingers above the bowl filled with names- towards the assembly. On top of the stage, the crowd of Konoha citizens were in full view where they’d arranged themselves in neat rows and it took less than a second for his eyes to find the source of the familiar voice.

    Naruto stood in the middle of the partition that separated the men and women, hand raised and facial features defiant, marching towards the stage even before the peacekeepers could reach her.

    Inside his mind, all he could hear were his own desperate screams, “No. Stop. Turn back! Naruto turn back!”. He needs to figure out a way to fix this. But a part of him knows it’s already too late.
